The Boonton Holmes Public Library's Local History Department was started during the Bicentennial. When America turned 200, people all over the country began to develop an interest in local history and Boonton was no different. For the Boonton Holmes Library, it was one librarian's interest in local history that started our collection. Jean Lee started simply by collecting pictures, newspaper clippings, and other items of interest and sorting them in the library basement.
